Academic content
- Purpose
- The students should develop a clear understanding of the physics and chemistry content in Faroese primary and upper secondary school. In addition, the students should acquire research-based knowledge on how teaching can be planned and completed in relation to this content in order to support pupils’ development taking into account pupils’ cognitive and social preconditions.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, the students should be able: Describe which teaching material is suitable for teaching physics/chemistry. Assess which teaching methods and evaluation methods are suitable to apply in physics/chemistry Carry out and/or solve tasks that are part of the syllabus in physics/chemistry Prepare and carry out laboratory exercises which are suitable for teaching physics/chemistry Show with examples how deductive approaches can be used in physics/chemistry teaching Reflect on the challenges a teacher may encounter when trying to organize a motivating teaching in the laboratory
